How to Remove and Clean Your Roller Blinds at Home

If they require one, however, the only way to achieve this is by removing your blinds from their window fittings in order to soak them. We’ll guide you through how to do this, but first, let’s explain how to take them down. Don’t worry, it isn’t as daunting as it sounds. It’s very simple and straightforward. 

Removing Roller Blinds

1. Roll up the blinds fully.
2. Twist the plastic wheel located on the opposite side of your chain. Doing this will retract the pin and the blinds will fall into your waiting hands. Be ready to catch them.
3. Remove them from the window and carry carefully to the bath in order to soak them.
4. Post cleaning, return your blinds to the window by inserting the chain side first and then slide the pin end into the bracket. Make sure you put it back in the same spot with the fabric on the roll or else your chain stoppers may not line up.

Cleaning Roller Blinds

To soak your blinds, place them in a bathtub of warm water with a few squirts of washing-up liquid and a cup of baking soda. Leave them to soak for an hour before rinsing with warm water. End by wiping off any excess dirt or dust with a damp cloth.
